Hamzah

The form Hamzah reflects a transliteration choice rather than a change in origin or meaning. In Arabic script, the name ends with the letter tāʾ marbūṭa (ة), which can be represented in Latin script either without an added consonant, as in Hamza, or with a final “h,” producing Hamzah. Both forms point to the same historical and religious background.

In Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia and Malaysia, Hamzah appears frequently in religious scholarship, historical writing, and formal documents. The final “h” aligns with established transliteration practices used in Malay and Indonesian contexts. Although pronunciation remains virtually identical to Hamza, the spelling Hamzah often carries a slightly more classical or text-based appearance.
